John Lee Kei-Ben Iaito

The Iai-Do sport is dealing with the Art of sword pulling and the determined tackle technique (Katas), indeed as a formal exercise. Usually the Iaito, a blunt Exercise sword is used. The development of the unit of body, mind and sword (Ki-Ken-Tai-Ichi) is in the foreground. The ultimate master’s degree is achieved when people are able to control every situation of combat even without pulling the sword. The name Kei-Ben stands for the simple and practical sword design.
The blade is made of hand-forged stainless steel, blunt and with fuller (Bo-Hi). The hilt (Tsuka) is made of wood and ray skin covered (Same). The swine of the hilt (Tsuka-Ito) is traditional made of cotton. The Tsuba made of a zinc-aluminium cast shows a flower motive. On the hilt are two Menukis in form of a Mitsudomoe inserted. The scabbard (Saya) is made of wood and the blade ferrule is brass. Manufactured from museums pattern, with certificate and seal to guarantee the genuineness.
