John Lee Tombo Katana

The dragonfly (Japanese: “tombo”) was considered to be an honorable symbol of the samurai. It symbolized the courage of the warrior and the attitude to never give up.
In Shintoism the insect represents the rice plant and is a harbinger of a profitable fall. The Japanese expressed their worship of this animal in numerous poems.
This sword is a highlight in many aspects. Especially the themed decorations, the differentially heat-treated shobo zukuri style blade and the sheath with kozuka (a small utility knife) turn this sword into something special.

- Sharp blade made of 1095 carbon steel
- Shobo zukuri style blade (fluent transition to the tip) with a fuller (bo-hi)
- Differential heat-treatment with clay cover, 60 HRC on the edge and 40 HRC on the back of the blade
- Traditional hineri maki style handle wrap made of burgundy silk.
- Black, mirror polished sheath (kuroro style)
- Sheath with kozuka (small utility knife)
- Delivered in a beautiful collector’s box.
- Made after historical examples.
