John Lee Ten Kei Tanto

The term “Ten Kei” can be translated as “gift of the sky” and is a symbol of nature’s beauty. This inspired delicate flower patters on the handmade fittings that are refined with gold and silber.
The blade is handmade using the elaborate konbuse style. The hard cover is made of 1095 carbon steel and the core consists of softer low-carbon steel. Like its predecessors this tanto combines grace and utility in a unique way.
Using a differential heat treatment an edge of 60 HCR and a blade back of 40 HRC is created. The difference can be seen in a real, delicately formed hamon line.
