John Lee Golden Autumn Katana
This is one of the finest premium katanas in our product line-up.
The blade is made of 12x (about 8,000 layers) folded carbon steel, differentiated hardened with clay coat 60 HRC at the blade and about 40 HRC at blade back. The blade is also build in Kobuse-Style * (hard jacket, soft core). The masterful work of the polisher brings damascus structure and a temper line to reveal, underscored by a mirror polish on the back of the blade.
All decorations (Tsuba, Menuki, Fuchi and Kashira) are handmade and set in a simple fall scene showing the beauty of the moment. This simple but elegant decorations are in the style of the Edo era (1603 - 1868).
The handle is wrapped with black silk, lined with traditional paper triangles (Hishigami) and real ray skin. Two conical mekugi (bamboo sticks) connect the long-held tang and the sword handle.
The black, high gloss lacquered scabbard features a worked into ray skin inlay. In addition to a high-quality sageo, the scabbard convinces with terminations (koiguchi, kurigata, Kojiri) from buffalo horn.
Within the scope of supply are an attractive collector's box made of wood, a printed cloth bag, seal and certificate.
