John Lee Kappa Katana

Kappa (english "River Child") refers to a mythical creature of the Japanese mythology. It is a water goblin, who draws down people into waters and drowned them in depth when they come to close. According to legend, they should also have a weakness for cucumber. On its handcrafted decoration this exceptional katana shows a Kappa, and an unsuspecting hiker. Beneath the beautiful colors you should lay great stress upon the fuller, which begins about 10 cm above the tsuba.
Sharp grounded Damascus blade made from 12 times folded 1045 carbon steel with more than 8,000 layers. Blade in Shinogi Zukuri style with distinctive fuller (Bo-Hi). Handle wrapping is made from red cotton in classic Hineri-Maki style. Black, high-gloss varnished sheath made of wood (Kuroro-style).
With long tang, which is fixed with two bamboo pins (Mekugi) in the handle. The sword is thus fully demountable. Without plastic, only high-quality and authentic materials are used. Blade clamp (Habaki) and washers (Seppa) are made of brass. The traditional handle wrapping is lined with genuine ray skin. All decorations (Tsuba, Fuchi, Menuki, Kashira) are handmade from metal. A protective case made of fabric, a John Lee seal and a certificate are within the scope of supply.
