John Lee Zaza Iaito Katana

Zaza is the Japanese word for bamboo. Because of his straight stature and his fresh, green color, it stands for growth and purity. In the Japanese culture it is also used as a symbol of good luck.

The light and well balanced blade is hand-forged from 420 stainless steel and not sharpened. The handle is traditionally wrapped with black cotton and backed with genuine ray skin.
The decoration of the sword (Tsuba, Fuchi, Kashira, Menuki) shows bamboo motifs. The black, high gloss lacquered scabbard is also decorated with golden bamboo leaves and wrapped with a two colored high-quality sageo. The terminations of the scabbard (koiguchi, kurigata, kojiri) are made of fine buffalo horn.
